Alla Kudryavtseva: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Second Round of the Australian Open 2014

I haven't seen Alla Kudryavtseva play all year last year, so it was great to see her name back in a grand slam draw starting here in Melbourne.  She is currently ranked #162 and today, she defeated Caroline Garcia of France, ranked #76.  She will meet Angelique Kerber in the second round.

This is her third time into the second round of Melbourne.
