Steve Darcis: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Second Round of Wimbledon 2013

Belgian player Steve Darcis gave the 2013 Wimbledon the biggest shocker by defeating two-time champion Rafael Nadal in the first round, 76(4) 76(8) 64.  Steve Darcis' best performance was the third round of the 2012 French Open. 

This year, he lost in the first round of both the Australian and French Open.  He was once ranked as high as #44.  He withdrew from his second round match due to injury. He was supposed to meet Polish player Lukas Kubot, himself ranked #119 in the world.
