Flavia Pennetta: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Fourth Round of the 2013 Wimbledon

Italian veteran Flavia Pennetta (#166) defeated local girl Elena Baltacha (#167) 64 61, in the first round of the 2013 Wimbledon.  She was then granted a walkover as her second round opponent Victoria Azarenka withdrew due to injury.  She then defeated Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (#31) in the third round, 06 76(4) 62.  She will next meet Belgian Kirsten Flipkens (#20) in the fourth round.  This is the third time she has reached the fourth round here,  2005, 2006 and now 2013.
