WTA Rankings Watch: January 31, 2011
There is a lot of movement within the rankings this week, due mainly to the big points that are usually awarded during a Grand Slam.
Because of their impressive performances in the just concluded Australian Open, Kim Clijsters, Francesca Schiavone and Li Na, make strides in the Top 10 of women's tennis. Kim edges to #2, while Francesa moves up to #4, her highest position ever! Li Na blasts into the Top 10 at #7, also her highest rank, ever! Finally, Agnieszka Radwanska reenters the Top 10, at #10.
Within the Top 20, Maria Sharapova, moves three places to #13, Flavia Pennetta blasts from #25 to #16, while Petra Kvitova muscles in from #28 to #18.
Within the Top 100, Channelle Scheepers moves from #107 to #80, Rebecca Marino from #104 to #84 and Anne Keothavong from #118 to #91.
