ATP Brisbane International: Three Interesting Second Round Match Ups

Fernando Verdasco is bundled out in the 1st round of the Brisbane International, which opens up his side of the draw.  The following are for me, the most interesting match-ups in the second round -

# 3 Feliciano Lopez (ESP) (#32) vs. Kevin Anderson (RSA) (#61)

Kevin has risen so high up in the rankings these past few months, it would be interesting if he can beat Lopez in their match today.  Whoever wins here is going to be the beneficiary over Verdasco's loss in this part of the draw.  I'd like to see Anderson win though.

#2 Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKR) (#48) vs. Andy Roddick (USA) (#8)

Well, Andy faces his first test today, when he faces Alexandr Dolgopolov, who is a crafty and talented player.  He'll be able to gauge his level now and although he has returned to the Top 10 last year, people have not bet on him much to be a threat to the heavy guns in the present ATP rankings.

#1  Radek Stepanek (CZE) (#62) vs. Mardy Fish (USA) (#16)

Mardy will have his hands full today as he will try to win over Stepanek, one of the more experienced veterans still in the ATP tour.  Although Stepanek has fallen down a bit in the rankings, he has an armory of shots that can still trouble some players in the Top 20.
