Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Gets Into the 3rd Rd of the Australian Open 2011
Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa, ranked #107, was invited into the main draw of this year's Australian Open, and she promptly wins her first round match against Karolina Sprem 46 64 62. She then defeats Regina Kulikova of Russia 64 46 75. In the third round, she lost to Victoria Azarenka of Belorussia 63 63. This is the farthest Chanelle has reached in the Australian Open. She has reached the 4th round of the French Open.
