Italy is the fourth strongest country in women's tennis in 2010, and they have one player in the Top 10 right now, 2010 French Open champion, Francesca Schiavone. In other years, Flavia Pennetta, was the other Top 10 player, but this year, she is at #24. There are five other Italians sprinkled all over the Top 100, showing how deep the country's bench is.
They are Roberta Vinci (#38), Sara Errani (#43), Romina Oprandi (#66), Tathiana Garbin (#87) and Alberta Brianti (#91).
