Jimmy Wang of Chinese-Taipei, currently ranked #147 in the world, has reached the third round of Wimbledon for the first time. It's his best performance in any grand slam. He actually had to qualify for the main draw and promptly won his first two matches.
He won his first round match against Colombian Alejandro Gonzalez (#76) 63 63 62. Then he upset veteran Russian Mikhail Youzhny (#16) 76(1) 62 67(5) 63.
In the third round, he ran into Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France (#17) and lost 26 26 57.
Hopefully, his good run here should improve his rankings when it comes out next week.
