Juan Martin Del Potro: Male Breakthrough Player for US Open 2016
Juan Martin del Potro (#142) of Argentina, becomes the Male Breakthrough Player for the 2016 US Open, as he reaches the quarterfinals, as the player with a rank below the top 100.
This is not surprising though as del Potro is a former US Open champion and has been in this territory before. This is his fourth time in the quarterfinals of this tournament, and ninth overall, in all the grand slams.
The last time he was in this deep in any of the grand slams was in Wimbledon 2013.
