Kaia Kanepi Kicks Off 2012 with the Brisbane Title
In her side of the Brisbane draw, Kaia Kanepi (#34) had Schiavone (#11 - defeated her in the semifinal), Pavlyuchenkova (#16 - defeated her in the fourth round) and Petkovic (#10) - defeated her in the QF) to deal with yet she came through it, dominating Daniela Hantuchova (#24) in the final 62 61.
I am also really glad to see Kaia back in the winner's circle again, this being her second WTA tour title. She is a powerful player and could give any of the Top 10 players a headache if her A-game is on! Would love to see her do well in Melbourne!
