Li Na Wins Asian Women's Fantasy Tennis 2013
Every year, I hold and Asian Fantasy Tennis tournament around October to celebrate the best tennis players in the Asian, Australian and New Zealand regions. It's all imaginary playing based on the current rankings and using the WTA tour website's actual head-to-head.
This year, the final was between Li Na and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan.
The semi-final pairings looked like this -
Li Na won over compatriot Peng Shuai.
Yaroslava Shvedova defeated Samantha Stosur.
As for the quarterfinals, here were the pairings -
Li Na defeated Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei
Peng Shuai defeated Kimiko Date Krumm of Japan
Yaroslava Shvedova defeated Ayumi Morita of Japan
Samantha Stosur defeated Kai-Chen Chang of Chinese Taipei
