Nina Bratchikova was my breakout player in this year's Australian Open, as she reached the third round, ranked #136. She also reaches the third round of this year's Roland Garros, this time, ranked #108. In the first round, she defeated Monica Niculescu (#34) 06 63 63, then Claire Feuerstein (#145) in the second round, 36 63 75. In the third round though, she ran into Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova (#4) 26 64 16.
Her performance here may allow her to break into the top 100 again, something she achieved January 30 this year, where she reached a career high of #90. Since this is her first Roland Garros, she should reach a rank higher than that, after Roland Garros.
