Nungnadda Wannasuk: Player In Focus: Pattaya Open 2011
Nungnadda Wannasuk was the only Thai player to have survived the first round in this year's Pattaya Open. She won over Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan ranked #154. Nungnadda is ranked #475. She has won several ITF titles already and with this win here, her rank should go up a little bit. It would take a lot of work though for her to really reach the WTA level since she has to be in the main draws of the WTA tours. Anyhow, she is the future of Thai women's tennis, which has long been ruled by Tamarine Tanasugarn. I hope she gets more exposure on this level and get more victories, which are crucial to her rise in rank.
