Hong Kong Tennis Open 2015: Me with Alize Cornet
Kagabi ko pa gustong kumuha ng selfie with Frenchwoman Alize Cornet. She is so freakin' sweet and nice to her fans and she is a crowd favorite here in HK.
Alize is the only player who defeated Serena Williams three times in 2014 - in Wuhan, Dubai and in Wimbledon!
She is that good and her forehand just whips it!
Hong Kong Tennis Open 2015: Selfie with Jelena Jankovic
If I just played for the other field, it's really all legs, legs, legs in the women's tournament! And they're all very tall ha, mas pandak pa ako than most of them.
Jelena looked much better in person than on TV at that time, I think she was only 16 pa ata nun. And sya kasi, she has this unique mix of being Eastern European and have those narrow slit eyes herself, like she were Chinese.
Does she have a chance still to win a grand slam?
Well, if Flavia Pennetta can do it, she certainly can.
Hong Kong Tennis Open 2015: Seeing Francesca Schiavone for the First Time
Francesca Schiavone, 2010 French Open champion, has always been one of my favorite players. I saw her in Soho in London in 2006 when Italy won the World Cup. She was celebrating with her fellowmen.
She is actually, the first Italian woman to win a grand slam and has paved the way for other Italian women to believe in themselves and grab that slam when the opportunity presents itself. This year, Flavia Pennetta snagged the US Open title while compatriot Roberta Vinci was runner up.
Schiavo was ranked #17 when she won her grand slam. Flavia was also ranked outside the top 10 when she won hers.
The lesson here is, when life gives you an opportunity to shine and win big, grab it. It may never happen again, especially if there are more talented and gifted people than you.
Hong Kong Tennis Open 2015: Meeting the Up-and-Coming Daria Gavrilova
Daria Gavrilova is one of the new teens coming from Russia who is making a run up the WTA rankings.
After her two hour and 45 minute match against Japanese player Miyu Kato, nacarry nya pang magpaselfie with me but sans the smile. Super pagoda na si gurl.
Today though, she had an autograph session and she looked fresh and spritely. Feeling ko though, she trains in the US. She has no more Russian accent e.

Hong Kong Tennis Open 2015: Angelique Kerber in Action
Angelique Kerber in action last night.
I was a bit sad that Francesca Schiavone and her had to meet last night - first round pa!
I guess Schiavo's ranking has really gone down na to make her meet Kerber in a first round match.
When I left, Schiavo was leading 3-0. Kerber eventually won, 67 62 63.
I hope to see Kerber play again tomorrow!
