Eva Birnerova: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Third Round of the 2013 Wimbledon

Czech player Eva Birnerova (#152) defeated American Varvara Lepchenko (#29), 62 46 64, in the first round of this year's Wimbledon.  She has reached as high as #59 in the world and has reached the 3rd round of the Australian Open.  She then defeated Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (#69) in the second round 63 64.  She lost to Puerto Rican Monica Puig (#65) in the third round, 64 36 46.  This is the first time she has reached the 3rd round of Wimbledon.
