Pocket powerhouse Dominika Cibulkova (#19) reached the semifinals in Stanford, only to withdraw with injury, allowing Marion Bartoli of France to reach the finals. All her opponents in the earlier rounds here were ranked lower than her, Date-Krumm (#52) first round, McHale (#65) second round and Erakovic (#121) in the quarterfinals. It's a pity though that she got injured. I hope she recovers in time for the US Open.
