Outside of the spotlight of the grand slams, Jana Cepelova of the Czech Republic, currently ranked #106, defeated Serena Williams in the Family Circle Cup last year. Here in the much bigger stage of Wimbledon, Jana shows that that victory was not a fluke, as she slew #3 player Simona Halep 57 64 63.
She will meet another Romanian in the second round, Monica Niculescu (#48), who is another tricky and crafty player.
Jana has reached as far as the third round here in Wimbledon.
