Irina Falconi: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Second Round of the 2014 Australian Open

Irina Falconi of the US, currently ranked #142, won her first round match in Melbourne today, 63 61, against veteran Anabel Medina Garrigues.  She will next meet Ekaterina Makarova in the second round.  It's the first time Irina goes into the second round here in Melbourne.
