Go Soeda of Japan breaks into the Top 100 this week, at #99, after getting into the semifinals of the Chennai Open last week. At the end of 2011, Soeda was ranked #120. This rise in rankings should make it easier for him to enter the Australian Open draw. He's the second Japanese in the Top 100 with compatriot Kei Nishikori at #26.
In Chennai, he lost to Janko Tipsarevic (#9) in the semis 16 46. He had victories though over Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI) (#23) and Ivan Dodig (CRO) (#36).
